Man is a product of environment he is subject to and the role of environment is even more profound in formative years. Young Scholars Educational Society is serving the Society in the field of Education through YS School Barnala and YS Public School Handiaya by providing highly conducive ambience and class infrastructure for better growth and development of the students. YS Public School Handiaya, far from the madding crowd, sprawls across 3 acres of verdant landscape at Barnala Bathinda Road, Handiaya

Science Laboratories

At YS Public School Handiaya there is a provision of separate Science Labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Each science lab is approx. of 2000 sq. ft. in area and has all the facilities befitting 10+2 level students. All the science classes from 8th class onward are held in the Science Labs, so that every student becomes clear of the fundamental of each concept. Experiments in these labs are explained to and done by the students, with care given to intricate details of each of them, so that once imbibed, the details remain in the young minds for future times.

Library

The schools have big libraries with more than 3,000 books decorating the shelves, catering to the needs of all the students up to 10+2 level. There are Encyclopedias on different subjects available in the libraries. The libraries also have a number of CDs on different subjects for the use of the students. Days are fixed for the drawing of books or CDs from the library. The students are issued library cards for the withdrawal of books.

Children Parks

The campuses of the schools are very well planned. At YS Public School Handiaya, there is Children Park crowned with flowers canopy in the middle of it. The Children Park is so designed as the children may walk from one end to the other without disturbing flowers and also have the pleasure of being seated in it. The Children Park has four lush green lawns for pleasure and picnics. At YS Public School Handiaya, a Science Park is also developed where almost all the swings are based on the principles of science; each swing is associated with a plate giving details of the principle on which the swing is based. There can’t be a method better than teaching the children practically with the help of swings.

School Canteen

The School Canteen caters to the eating needs of the students. At Handiaya Campus from Nursery to 5th standard the students are charged refreshment fee and the refreshment is provided to the students from the canteen. The menu for the refreshment is decided by the Canteen Committee comprising of one teacher and the council of the ministers. There is a menu prepared for the whole week so that the students get healthy, fresh and variety in refreshment.
